To celebrate our launch into the UK we have created a printed Union Jack Heavy Duty Windsock
Our windsocks are the only truly custom windsock product on the market. This means that you can print anything you wish onto a heavy duty, industrial strength windsock. Our custom heavy duty windsocks are made of 600D PU polyester, this means they are waterproof and stand up to harsh marine environments like no other windsock fabric. With over 1000 lbs tensile strength and UV resistance to fading, our custom printed windsocks are made for harsh environments like marine to agricultural use.
Use of windsocks at airports, aerodromes and airstrips in the UK are imperative as the use of visual indicators of wind speed and direction contribute to safe operation. Our windsocks comply with the most stringent specifications for windsocks and windcones in the UK. ICAO (Annex 14)/UK CAA states that windsocks must be installed such that they are readable from a height of 300m and the windsocks must be tapered such that the windsocks will be fully inflated at a wind speed of 28 km/hr or 17 mph. Windsocks are 3.6 m in length (12’) x 0.9 m in diameter (36”)
Many of the the above ICAO (Annex 14)/UK CAA regulations in the UK are similar to the FAA regulated sizes and shapes mentionedhere. One main difference is the tolerance for custom printing in that it is allowed on windsocks at aerodromes within the UK
How do you ship Custom Windsocks to the UK?
Our custom windsocks are still manufactured at our facility, but we ship out custom printed windsocks to the UK via FedEx air. The windsocks usually arrive within 3-4 days and most areas of the UK are covered. Seehere for a detailed listing of FedEx’s coverage area
Are there any duties and taxes owing on shipments when the Custom Windsocks are delivered in the UK ?
Yes, the UK government applies a 20% flat rate VAT on all imported items, plus an additional 6% tariff/duty for printed woven textiles. You can expect to pay what you see on our site plus 26% charged by the carrier (Fedex, UPS or DHL) on behalf of the government once delivered
How do you handle international returns and exchanges
As of right now, only our custom products are available in the UK. All custom products are subject to ourterms are conditions, which state that no returns or exchanges are permitted for non-defective items. If we have made a mistake in any way (ie your product is defective, or we’ve printed it wrong or we gave you the wrong size) we will fix our mistake for you free of charge
